NAB takes into custody Sohail Asghar Awan
ISLAMABAD: The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) apprehended Sohail Asghar Awan on corruption charges. He is the secretary of former federal minister Moonis Elahi and facing allegations of receiving kickbacks in government contracts.
The Accountability Court Judge Kayani granted approval for the physical remand of Sohail Asghar Awan till August 16.
NAB Lahore executed a decisive move and arrested Awan. He is accused of receiving substantial kickbacks in connection with government contracts.

The NAB presented the accused before Accountability Court Judge Zubair Shehzad Kayani. The officials of NAB informed the court about Awan’s corruption of millions of rupees.
Sohail Asghar Awan’s purported engagement in illicit financial activities is substantiated by a wealth of evidence. NAB officials highlighted the importance of obtaining vital documents and relevant materials from Awan.
Adhering to legal procedures, NAB petitioned the court for physical remand of the accused for a thorough investigation into the matter.
IHC seeks info about who ordered Khan’s transfer to Attock Jail
Meanwhile, who ordered shifting of Imran Khan to Attock Jail instead of Adiala Jail. The Islamabad High Court has asked this question from the authorities concerned.
When Judge Humayun Dilawar asked the authorities to arrest Imran Khan after his conviction and shift him to Adiala jail.
The IHC Chief Justice Aamer Farooq also directed the assistant advocate general to identify the competent authority regarding prisoners’ transfers. The chief justice sought a report by August 11 (Friday). Justice Farooq issued the order during the hearing of PTI’s plea on Wednesday.
