The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) has claimed recoveries worth Rs 2.45 trillion during the second quarter of 2026. The bureau described the achievement as a major step toward AI-powered anti-corruption accountability.
According to a NAB spokesperson, the bureau intensified its anti-corruption drive throughout the quarter. Consequently, its recovery efforts produced significant results across multiple regions.
The bureau’s biggest achievement involved recovering more than 1,078,283 acres of state land. The land was retrieved from Balochistan, Sindh, Punjab, and the Islamabad Capital Territory.
Moreover, NAB said total recoveries reached Rs 5.41 trillion during the first half of 2026. It described the figure as the highest six-month recovery in its history.
Land Recoveries Lead Performance
NAB Sukkur recorded the highest recovery figures during the quarter. Working with the Sindh Board of Revenue, officials recovered 853,678 acres valued at Rs 1.01 trillion.
Meanwhile, NAB Balochistan recovered 209,544 acres of forest land worth Rs 604.64 billion. The recovered properties included Hingol National Park and land owned by the Gwadar Industrial Estate Development Authority.
NAB Karachi also retrieved 11,422 acres of allegedly illegally allotted state land valued at Rs 467.11 billion. Additionally, NAB Lahore recovered 1,909 acres worth Rs 288.29 billion.
Thousands Receive Compensation
NAB Islamabad and Rawalpindi recovered 810 acres of land worth Rs 66.63 billion. Furthermore, NAB Multan retrieved 920 acres valued at Rs 2.76 billion.
The bureau also compensated more than 24,365 victims in housing and financial fraud cases. According to NAB, affected people received money and assets worth Rs 42.30 billion.
The spokesperson added that NAB recovered Rs 16.94 trillion between March 2023 and June 2026. The bureau said these recoveries reflect its continued nationwide anti-corruption campaign.
