Reports claiming that former Prime Minister Imran Khan’s Bani Gala residence in Islamabad is set to be auctioned have triggered political and public debate, but the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) has firmly rejected the allegations as baseless.
According to initial claims, auction advertisements for the property were allegedly published twice. However, conflicting statements and outright denials have emerged from various quarters.
PTI senior leader Salman Akram Raja stated on social media that news of the supposed auction surfaced only today, calling it the result of a possible covert operation if proven true.
He added that the Bani Gala management was unaware of any such development, while the party’s legal team is investigating the matter. Raja assured that accurate details would emerge soon.
Within PTI, the issue has sparked internal discussions, with some members attributing the lack of a swift response to negligence and internal divisions. Sources allege that leaders including Barrister Gohar, Sheikh Waqas, and Zartaj Gul have been preoccupied with personal matters, delaying a political counter to the reports.
In contrast, NAB officials have issued a categorical denial, stressing that there is no truth to any claims regarding the auction of Imran Khan’s residence.
Meanwhile, the leaders of the ruling parties have yet to respond to the viral reports about the auction of Khan’s Bani Gala property.
