Thousands of Vehicles Stranded as Rescue Operations Expand
Thousands of vehicles remain stuck across Murree due to intense snowfall. Consequently, authorities launched a large-scale rescue operation to evacuate nearly 5,000 vehicles.
Police, rescue teams, and traffic officials have been deployed at key locations. Heavy machinery is also being used to clear blocked roads. Meanwhile, salt is being spread on major routes to reduce skidding risks.
Officials stated that roads are reopening in phases. However, clearance depends on snowfall intensity and visibility conditions.
Tourist Entry Banned Amid Safety Concerns
Authorities have imposed a strict ban on tourist entry into Murree. Officials warned that congestion, icy roads, and poor visibility pose serious safety risks.
Travel advisories urged people to delay visits until weather conditions improve. Visitors already present are being assisted to return as routes gradually reopen.
Earlier alerts helped limit tourist inflow. At peak hours, around 10,000 visitors were reported across Murree GPO and nearby areas.
Power Outages and Internet Disruptions Reported
The snowfall has also disrupted essential services. Several peripheral areas have remained without electricity since last night.
Internet services are partially suspended in multiple locations. As a result, communication challenges have increased for residents.
Daily life has slowed significantly. Movement remains limited, while routine activities have largely halted.

Weather officials indicated that snowfall may continue through the night. This could further delay road clearance and service restoration.
Authorities stressed that conditions remain unpredictable. Therefore, travel to Murree should be avoided until the snow spell weakens.
