The Murree district administration has issued a safety advisory for tourists and residents amid ongoing rainfall and potentially hazardous weather conditions.
Authorities have urged people to avoid unnecessary travel during rain and drive at reduced speeds because roads may become slippery. The administration also advised the public to stay away from rivers, storm drains and other areas where fast-moving water could pose serious risks.
Tourists Urged To Avoid Risky Areas
Tourists and residents have been advised to maintain a safe distance from weak or leaning trees and avoid parking vehicles near them. They have also been asked to limit their stay in areas vulnerable to landslides, particularly during periods of heavy rainfall.
In case of an emergency, the administration has directed people to immediately contact Rescue 1122 for assistance. Officials have emphasized that visitors should follow safety instructions and avoid unnecessary exposure to hazardous locations.
Emergency Teams Remain On Alert
The administration said its emergency resources, along with Rescue 1122 Murree teams, remain deployed in the field to respond to incidents and assist residents and tourists.
Meanwhile, the Meteorological Department has forecast further rain and warned of possible landslides in mountainous areas. Following instructions from Deputy Commissioner Murree, all relevant departments are maintaining field operations and monitoring conditions.
The administration has encouraged tourists to remain informed about weather developments and cooperate with officials during the adverse conditions. Authorities said precautionary measures are aimed at reducing risks and ensuring public safety as rainfall continues in the hill station.
