Bollywood fans may finally witness the return of two beloved comedy characters as filmmaker Rajkumar Hirani reportedly prepares to begin shooting Munna Bhai 3 in 2027.
The much-awaited sequel is expected to reunite Sanjay Dutt and Arshad Warsi after two decades. However, the production schedule has not been officially confirmed.

Why Has Munna Bhai 3 Taken So Long?
The third installment has faced repeated delays because of screenplay difficulties.
Hirani previously explained that he wanted a compelling storyline before continuing the successful franchise.
The filmmaker reportedly developed several ideas but struggled to create a satisfying conclusion.
Warsi also revealed that three incomplete scripts existed, although none successfully connected the entire story.
Farhad Samji Joins Munna Bhai 3
Writer and filmmaker Farhad Samji has reportedly joined Hirani to develop the screenplay.
Samji previously contributed to the original 2003 film Munna Bhai M.B.B.S., writing the opening refrain of a popular song.
His return marks an important development in the sequel’s preparation.
Will Sanjay Dutt and Arshad Warsi Return?
The film is expected to feature Dutt as Munna Bhai and Warsi as his loyal companion Circuit.
Their chemistry became a defining feature of the franchise.
The second installment, Lage Raho Munna Bhai, was released in 2006 and received widespread appreciation.
Filming is reportedly planned for 2027, depending on screenplay completion.
However, the makers have not announced an official shooting date or theatrical release.
