Police arrested a mother and her son for allegedly operating an online drug operation and delivery network in Karachi. Authorities recovered crystal meth, commonly known as ice, during the operation.
According to officials, police intercepted the suspects at the Musharraf Colony checkpoint. Law enforcers searched them and seized narcotics from their possession. Authorities identified the accused as Shan Khan and Bushiran Bibi.
Investigators said the pair allegedly transported drugs from Hub Chowki. They then supplied narcotics to customers across different areas of Karachi. Police believe the suspects used mobile phones to receive orders. They reportedly arranged deliveries through a small-scale distribution network.
Police Uncover Alleged Online Drug Operation
Initial investigations revealed details about the suspected operation. Officials said the accused managed drug transactions through phone communication. Moreover, investigators are examining customer contacts and delivery methods.
Authorities stated that Bushiran Bibi has a criminal record. Police records show her involvement in several previous cases. Consequently, investigators are reviewing her past activities for possible links. They are also tracing connections to other suspected suppliers.
Police officials confirmed that further inquiries remain underway. They aim to identify additional individuals connected to the alleged network.
Karachi Police Intensify Anti-Narcotics Operations
The arrests come amid continued efforts against drug trafficking in Karachi. Law enforcement agencies have expanded operations targeting dealers and suppliers. As a result, authorities have reported several recent successes.
Earlier this week, District East Police conducted another major operation. Acting on intelligence, officers arrested alleged drug dealer Shireen alias Sharina. Police also detained her two sons in Gulistan-e-Jauhar.
According to the Senior Superintendent of Police East, around 35 cases exist against the suspect. Officials further disclosed that a hand grenade was recovered previously. Meanwhile, investigators continue examining links between various narcotics networks operating across Karachi.
