Pakistani actress Momina Iqbal’s husband, Hamza Habib, has accused PML-N MPA Saqib Chadhar of allegedly arranging shooters to target him and his wife. Habib made the allegation on social media as an ongoing dispute between the two sides continues to involve legal and cybercrime proceedings.
In an Instagram story, Habib alleged that attempts to influence people had failed and claimed that shooters were now being arranged to kill them. He also warned that those responsible for any alleged actions would eventually face consequences.
Dispute Escalates on Social Media
The dispute involves allegations of online harassment, threats and blackmail, with both sides presenting conflicting accounts. Momina previously accused Chadhar of cyberbullying, harassment and threats, prompting the National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA) to register a case under relevant provisions.
Habib has also spoken publicly about his relationship with Momina. In May, he appeared outside the Lahore High Court and described the actress as his wife, while alleging that Chadhar had asked him to distance himself from her and offered money to end their relationship.
Chadhar has rejected the allegations and has presented his own version of events. The dispute has continued through social media statements and legal proceedings.
NCCIA Launches Fresh Investigation
The matter took another turn after Chadhar claimed that the NCCIA had ruled in his favour. Habib disputed that claim and said the agency had instead ordered a fresh investigation.
The NCCIA issued fresh notices to both parties on September 3 after receiving new digital evidence. The agency formed a special investigation team, summoning Chadhar for September 11 and Momina for September 14.
Meanwhile, the agency has cautioned that authorities cannot declare either side guilty or innocent before completing the fresh inquiry. The investigation will determine the validity of the competing allegations and available evidence.
