The controversy involving actress Momina Iqbal and PML-N Punjab MPA Saqib Chadhar has intensified after fresh allegations emerged from the actress’s family. Momina’s sister, Rimsha Iqbal, addressed the media in Lahore and challenged several claims made by Chadhar during recent public appearances.
Speaking at a press conference, Rimsha said the family had already submitted evidence and relevant information to the National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency. However, she explained that legal restrictions had prevented them from discussing certain details publicly until now.
Rimsha also rejected allegations that the family had demanded a large financial settlement. According to her, no monetary demand was ever made. Instead, she claimed the family only sought an official apology and was willing to withdraw the case afterwards.
Family Challenges Evidence Presented Publicly
During the press conference, Rimsha questioned documents that Chadhar had reportedly displayed during a television programme. She argued that presenting photocopied documents in public did not automatically prove the claims being made.
Furthermore, she said the family decided to respond because questions regarding the dispute continued to surface in the media. Therefore, she maintained that it was necessary to present their position publicly.
Rimsha also alleged that Chadhar contacted individuals associated with Momina’s professional work. According to her, these included producers and makeup artists who were allegedly asked not to offer the actress work opportunities.
More Evidence May Be Released
Rimsha claimed that several people were willing to speak about what she described as harassment faced by Momina. However, these allegations remain disputed and have not been independently verified.
She further stated that recordings, messages and other material connected to the dispute may be released in the future. According to Rimsha, the family has already submitted verified digital evidence to the relevant authorities.
Addressing separate claims about her time in Australia, Rimsha denied suggestions that her education or work depended on Saqib Chadhar. She said her family financed her studies and challenged him to provide evidence supporting any claimed business connection.
