ISLAMABAD: Mobilink Bank has introduced the Bibi App, a new mobile application dedicated to breast cancer awareness. The bank developed this tool to deliver accessible, localised health information that helps Pakistani women make informed decisions about their well-being.
Targeted support for women’s health
Aangan, a women-focused startup incubated under Mobilink Bank’s Women Inspirational Network (WIN) programme, created the app. Officials launched it in Islamabad during an event that brought together diplomats, policymakers, healthcare experts, and industry leaders. The initiative marks Mobilink Bank’s first major step into health-tech with a clear focus on early detection and awareness.
Moreover, health experts note that one in nine women in Pakistan faces the risk of breast cancer. Many delay seeking help due to social stigma and lack of reliable information. The Bibi App addresses this gap by offering easy-to-understand content on prevention, symptoms, and early detection. Users can access the material in both Urdu and English, and Shifa International Hospital has verified all medical details.
Strong push for digital inclusion
The app primarily targets women aged 18 to 55 living in urban, peri-urban, and semi-rural communities. It aims to reach those who often miss out on proper health resources. Through this platform, Mobilink Bank extends its support for women beyond financial services into meaningful social impact.
Haaris Mahmood Chaudhary, President and CEO of Mobilink Bank, highlighted the importance of the project. He said true empowerment comes from giving women access to knowledge and care so they can take charge of their health. The bank has already graduated 31 women-led startups through its WIN Incubator and continues to back innovative solutions that tackle real challenges.
This launch strengthens Mobilink Bank’s commitment to digital inclusion and women’s empowerment across Pakistan. Many hope the Bibi App will encourage more women to seek timely medical help and reduce the burden of breast cancer in the country.
