Police Trace Girl Through CCTV Footage and Technical Surveillance
A 12-year-old girl who went missing after leaving school in Karachi has been safely recovered from Thatta, police said.
The girl, identified as Iqra, had been missing since August 5 after she failed to return home from school.
Keamari District Police launched an investigation after her disappearance was reported by the family.
According to police, a case was registered at Site-A Police Station against unidentified persons.
Investigators initially treated the disappearance seriously and began tracing the girlโs movements.
The investigation team examined CCTV footage and used technical surveillance to identify possible locations connected with the case.
Police said the evidence eventually helped officers trace Iqra to Thatta.
A police team then carried out an operation and safely recovered the child.
Officials said she was found unharmed.
Police Say Girl Left Home After Becoming Upset With Mother
According to the investigation, Iqra did not return home after school because she was upset following a reprimand from her mother.
Police said she first went to the house of a friend instead of travelling home.
She later reached Civil Hospital in Karachi.
Investigators said the girl was found unattended at the hospital by a family.
The family reportedly became concerned about her safety and took her with them to Thatta.
Police later identified her location during the investigation.
Authorities said there was no immediate indication that the child had been abducted.
However, officers continued following legal procedures because a missing-person case had already been registered.
The circumstances surrounding her movements were also examined to ensure that she had remained safe during the period she was missing.
Girl Reunited With Mother, Court Statement to Be Recorded
SSP Investigation Masroor Ahmed Jatoi confirmed that Iqra had been safely recovered and handed over to her mother.
Police said the child will also be produced before a court.
Her statement will be formally recorded as part of the legal process.
The statement is expected to help investigators establish the complete sequence of events after she left school.
Police officials said the recovery was made possible through surveillance, CCTV analysis and coordination between investigation teams.
The case has ended with the child returning safely to her family after remaining missing for several days.
Authorities have advised families to immediately report missing children so investigators can begin tracing efforts without delay.
