At least two people have been killed and several others injured after a gunman opened fire in Minneapolis, police said on Wednesday.
Three police officers were among those wounded in the shooting. Two officers suffered gunshot wounds, while the condition of the third officer was not immediately clear.
Police said the suspected gunman was also found dead following the incident. Authorities have not yet determined how the suspect died.
Two Victims Confirmed Dead
Police spokesperson Garrett Parten said one person died at the scene.
Four other people were transported to hospital for treatment. One of those victims later died, bringing the confirmed death toll to two.
The identities of the victims have not yet been released.
Authorities have not provided details about what led to the shooting or whether the victims were specifically targeted.
Three Officers Injured
Three police officers were taken to hospital following the shooting.
Two officers were shot and were expected to survive, according to hospital officials.
One officer suffered a gunshot wound to the leg. Another was undergoing surgery after being injured.
The nature of the third officer’s injuries was not immediately disclosed.
A hospital spokesperson said the two officers who suffered gunshot wounds were in stable condition.

Police have not announced a motive for the shooting.
Investigators are expected to examine the circumstances surrounding the attack, including how the suspect died and what prompted the gunfire.
Minnesota Governor Tim Walz urged the public to “pray for Minnesota” following the deadly incident.
FBI Director Kash Patel also said federal agents were responding to the situation.
City officials were expected to provide further information during a later press conference as investigators continued working at the scene.
