Pakistanโs Bureau of Emigration and Overseas Employment has outlined a legal pathway for skilled workers seeking employment and residence in Germany. The route targets qualified foreign professionals as Germany continues to face labour shortages across multiple sectors.
According to the Bureau, Pakistani applicants may qualify if they meet Germanyโs education, professional, and employment criteria. The pathway applies to skilled workers with recognised technical, vocational, or professional qualifications.
Applicants must hold a qualification that Germany officially recognises or considers equivalent to its national standards. Degrees or certifications obtained in Pakistan must pass the German equivalency process before acceptance.
A confirmed job offer from a German employer is mandatory. Authorities require applicants to secure employment before applying for a residence permit. The offered position must align with the applicantโs education or professional training. Assistant-level and unskilled jobs do not qualify under this route.
Some professions fall under regulated categories. These include healthcare and other licensed occupations. Applicants in such fields must obtain professional recognition or approval from relevant German authorities. Doctors, nurses, and similar professionals must complete this process before starting work. Holding a degree alone does not meet the requirement.
The skilled worker residence permit provides a lawful route for foreigners to live and work in Germany. However, the Bureau clarified that the notice does not announce specific job openings, salary details, or application deadlines. It also does not introduce a new visa scheme exclusive to Pakistan.
Instead, the Bureau highlighted an existing legal migration option open to all eligible foreign professionals. Applicants should verify their qualification status and job offers through official channels. The Bureau also warned against unlicensed agents offering guaranteed visas or employment.
The Bureau regulates overseas recruitment in Pakistan and advises citizens on lawful employment abroad. Interested applicants can visit its official website for updates and guidance.
