Pakistani singer Sanam Marvi has opened up about a painful chapter of her life and her past marriage.
During a recent podcast appearance, Sanam reflected on the 15 years she says she spent going through a difficult period. She also revealed that she would make a different choice if given another opportunity.
Talking about her marriage in Punjab, the singer said, “Mere teen bete na hotay, main zindagi mein kabhi aisa faisla na karti.”
She also explained the meaning behind her emotional statement. “If I did not have my three sons, I would never have made such a decision in my life,” she said.
Sanam Marvi Regrets Lost Years
Sanam said she regrets the time she lost during that period of her life.
“Sometimes in life, you make decisions where you end up wasting your time. That was a very good time of my life. If Allah gives me an opportunity, I would never make that decision again, and I would never have wasted 15 years of my life like that,” she revealed.
However, Sanam said her three sons changed how she views their father.
“But now there are children, and he is their father. I have a lot of respect and regard for him because of them,” she said.
Singer Opens Up About Separation From Sons
Sanam also spoke about the difficult years she spent away from her children.
She revealed that her sons remained away from her for around seven years. During that time, she also faced several court proceedings.
“For seven years, the children were away from me. There were court cases and I don’t know what all I went through. I have seen a very difficult time,” she recalled.
Despite those challenges, Sanam said she worked to provide her sons with a stable life. She revealed that she built a house for them and also gifted them a car.
Her sons now visit her and spend time with her. This has allowed Sanam to rebuild her bond with them after years of separation.
Sanam Focuses on Her Sons
Sanam’s remarks offered a glimpse into the emotional impact of those years. She spoke about her regrets while highlighting the importance of her three sons.
Although she remains critical of her past decision, Sanam continues to respect their father because of his relationship with their children.
