Meezan Bank Limited has announced an interim cash dividend of Rs8 per share for the half-year ended June 30, 2026. The announcement came alongside its financial results, which showed an increase in net profit compared with the same period last year.
Bank Reports Higher Half-Year Profit
Meezan Bank recorded a consolidated profit after taxation of Rs48.64 billion during the first half of 2026. This represents a 3.18% increase from Rs47.14 billion reported in the corresponding period of 2025.
Meanwhile, basic earnings per share rose to Rs26.71 from Rs25.97 a year earlier. Diluted earnings per share also increased, reaching Rs26.54 compared with Rs25.81.
The bank’s total income climbed 6.13% year-on-year to Rs153.02 billion. Previously, it stood at Rs144.18 billion during the same period last year.
Dividend Adds to Earlier Payment
The board approved an interim cash dividend of Rs8 per share, equivalent to 80%. This payment comes in addition to the Rs7.50 per share interim dividend already paid.
Consequently, the bank’s interim dividend distributions for the half-year period total Rs15.50 per share.
The latest announcement reflects the bank’s continued dividend payments alongside its financial performance. However, shareholders should review official notices for the applicable payment and eligibility details.
Income Growth Supports Performance
Meezan Bank’s financial results showed growth in several income streams. Fee and commission income increased 27.22% to Rs17.84 billion. Foreign exchange income also rose, reaching Rs4.33 billion.
However, operating expenses increased by nearly 30% to Rs45.28 billion. Despite higher costs, lower taxation helped the bank report stronger after-tax earnings.
Overall, Meezan Bank’s results highlight higher income and a modest increase in profitability during the first half of 2026.
