An international media association has denounced what it called a “violent assault” by Israeli soldiers on a CNN crew in the occupied West Bank.
The Foreign Press Association (FPA), which made the claims, said the incident occurred on Thursday. During the incident, the CNN crew was making a report on the aftermath of an attack by Israeli settlers.

According to the FPA, the CNN crew was detained by the Israeli soldiers who also became aggressive. In addition, the Israeli soldiers pointed their rifles at the CNN crew and other Palestinian civilians who were around them.
The crew also claimed that the soldiers attempted to stop them from filming the incident. In addition, the soldiers ordered the crew to stop filming by switching off their cameras and confiscating their equipment.
Furthermore, the situation was made worse by the action of one of the Israeli soldiers who approached CNN photojournalist Cyril Theophilos from behind.
Calls for accountability and response
The association also warned that these actions indicate a “disturbing trend of aggression against the media.” The association also called for a thorough investigation of the case.
In reaction to the case, the Israeli military has agreed to investigate the case. According to Lieutenant Colonel Nadav Shoshani, a military spokesman, the behavior of the soldiers does not reflect the standards of the military.
This is the second case against CNN this month. Last week, a CNN producer had his wrist fractured due to an assault by the Israeli police in East Jerusalem while covering the prayers of Ramazan last week.
The violence has also continued in the West Bank despite the ceasefire agreement in Gaza in October 2025.
