Masked men allegedly abducted the brother of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) MPA Abdul Karim Khan along with three security guards in Swabi. The incident occurred at the lawmaker’s residence in Tordher village early Wednesday morning, according to family sources.
The attackers reportedly arrived in several vehicles between 2am and 3am while Abdul Karim was not at home. They allegedly opened fire as they left, damaging four vehicles and creating panic among residents.
Attackers Allegedly Torture Security Guards
According to the family, the masked men assaulted security guards Bacha Khan, Ghani Rehman and Sardar Ali before taking them away. Abdul Karim’s brother, Abdul Nasir, also allegedly faced torture before the attackers abducted him.
The assailants reportedly damaged CCTV cameras installed at the residence and removed the digital video recorder. Police officials reached the location after receiving information about the incident and started investigating the case.
However, authorities have not yet officially confirmed the motive behind the alleged abductions. They also have not provided details about the whereabouts of Abdul Nasir and the three guards.
PTI Leaders Demand Immediate Recovery
The incident comes as PTI continues preparations for its march towards Islamabad. Consequently, PTI leaders have linked the alleged abduction to the ongoing political activity and expressed concerns about pressure on party members.
Former National Assembly speaker Asad Qaiser visited Abdul Karim’s residence and condemned the alleged attack. He demanded that authorities recover the abducted individuals and hold those responsible accountable under the law.
Qaiser also criticized the alleged violation of the family’s home and damage to property. Meanwhile, PTI leaders called for a transparent investigation and urged authorities to ensure the safety of political workers and their families.
The incident has raised concerns about security in Swabi as political tensions remain elevated ahead of the PTI march.
