Buses and Mobile Hospitals Promised
Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has announced major development plans for Azad Jammu and Kashmir.
She made the commitments during a PML-N election rally in Muzaffarabad.
Former prime minister Nawaz Sharif also addressed the gathering.
Maryam urged voters to support the PML-N in the upcoming regional elections.
She described Kashmir as her ancestral home.
She said she remained emotionally and personally connected with the region.
Maryam announced 10 Green Line buses for Muzaffarabad.
The buses would improve public transport in the regional capital.
She also promised 15 mobile hospitals for remote communities.
The mobile units would provide treatment closer to people’s homes.
Maryam said residents should not be forced to travel outside the region for basic healthcare.
She also called for advanced medical facilities across Azad Jammu and Kashmir.
Laptops, Scholarships and Free Education Announced
The chief minister announced 5,000 laptops for students and young professionals.
She also promised 2,000 scholarships for deserving students.
Maryam said a future PML-N government would work toward free education for every child.
She promised new schools and improved educational facilities.
The proposed programmes would follow initiatives already introduced in Punjab.
Maryam said young people must receive modern technology and better learning opportunities.
She also highlighted the 1,000-bed cancer hospital under construction in Lahore.
She said residents of Azad Jammu and Kashmir should receive similar healthcare support.
The chief minister also promised housing projects for low-income families.
These schemes would be based on Punjab’s affordable housing model.
Roads and Development Become Central Campaign Promises
Maryam pledged to build and restore roads across Azad Jammu and Kashmir.
She said Muzaffarabad and other cities deserved the same attention as major Punjab cities.
She highlighted medicine delivery services, welfare programmes and infrastructure projects in Punjab.
Maryam said similar initiatives could be introduced in the region under PML-N leadership.
She accused rival parties of failing to address public problems.
She also claimed the PML-N was deprived of 17 seats during the 2021 regional elections.
Maryam urged voters to compare development under different political parties.
She said strong leadership and consistent policies were essential for progress.
The chief minister claimed the PML-N had a record of delivering election promises.
She asked voters to consider the long-term impact of their decision.
Maryam said any future PML-N prime minister in Azad Jammu and Kashmir would follow Nawaz Sharif’s development vision.
She described Nawaz Sharif as the party’s main political guide for the region.
