Pakistani actress and model Mariam Michael has shared details about her early marriage and divorce. Through an emotional social media post, she challenged the stigma surrounding divorce, especially for women.
The actress revealed she married at 17 and divorced at 19. However, she stressed that her story reflects growth rather than regret.
Mariam explained she spoke publicly to encourage honest conversations. She said silence often allows shame to grow stronger.
Mariam Shares Personal Journey
Mariam revealed she and her former husband were too young for marriage. Therefore, they decided to end their relationship respectfully after two years.
She said both have moved forward without bitterness or resentment. Moreover, she wished her former husband happiness in his future.
The actress also rejected suggestions to hide her past. Instead, she described her experiences as an important part of her personal journey.
According to Mariam, every challenge shaped her into the woman she is today. She added that those lessons strengthened her character.
Actress Challenges Divorce Stigma
Mariam questioned why society still treats divorce as something shameful. She argued that some relationships simply end because two people are incompatible.
Furthermore, she insisted divorce does not reduce anyone’s worth or future happiness. She also expressed hope of finding a partner who accepts her complete story.
“This isn’t a confession. It’s not an apology. It’s simply my truth,” she wrote.
Her message received widespread support from fans and fellow celebrities. Saboor Aly, Hira Khan, Ahmad Randhawa, and content creator Madiha Khan praised her honesty.
Mariam Michael is the younger sister of actress-model Roma Michael. She has appeared in television dramas, including “Faaslay,” and continues expanding her acting career.
