Emmy-nominated actress pairs fringed black dress with unconventional soleless footwear for latest high-profile Chanel appearance
LONDON: Margaret Qualley made a striking fashion statement at the world premiere of her new film The Dog Stars in London, appearing on the red carpet in an unconventional Chanel ensemble that created an almost barefoot look.
The 31-year-old actress attended the premiere at Odeon Luxe Leicester Square on Thursday, August 20, alongside several members of the film’s cast.
Qualley wore a black Chanel dress featuring bohemian-style fringe and paired it with unusual soleless sandals from the French luxury fashion house.
The minimalist footwear featured a low block heel and two ankle straps while leaving most of her feet exposed, giving the appearance that the actress had walked onto the red carpet nearly barefoot.
Chanel Ambassador Embraces Unconventional Footwear
The distinctive sandals first appeared in April as part of designer Matthieu Blazy’s Chanel Cruise collection.
Moreover, Qualley has maintained a longstanding relationship with Chanel and regularly wears the fashion house’s designs during major industry appearances.
She also chose Chanel for her 2023 wedding to musician Jack Antonoff. The couple separated in July after three years of marriage.
Meanwhile, Qualley’s unusual footwear quickly became one of the notable fashion elements of Thursday’s London premiere.
‘The Dog Stars’ Heads to Cinemas
Qualley attended the event alongside co-stars Jacob Elordi and Josh Brolin as the cast promoted the upcoming post-apocalyptic film.
The Dog Stars unfolds in a harsh world following a devastating catastrophe and centres on Hig, a young pilot portrayed by Elordi.
Hig lives at an isolated homestead alongside Bangley, a heavily armed military survivalist played by Brolin.
Together, the characters navigate the dangers and uncertainty of a radically transformed world while confronting questions of survival, trust and human connection.
The film adds another major project to Qualley’s expanding screen career following several critically recognised performances.
Following its high-profile London premiere, The Dog Stars is scheduled to arrive in cinemas on August 28.
