University Recognises Leadership and Public Service
The university awarded President Muizzu an honorary doctorate in Politics and International Relations. Officials highlighted his contributions to governance reforms, institutional development and socioeconomic progress in the Maldives.
Moreover, the university recognised his commitment to Islamic values, justice and equality, along with his contributions to the wider Muslim community. The ceremony brought together senior government officials, federal cabinet members and representatives from the Maldivian delegation.
President Muizzu expressed gratitude for the recognition and described the honour as meaningful for his country. He also acknowledged the longstanding friendship between Pakistan and the Maldives, emphasising the importance of strengthening relations between the two nations.
Pakistan and Maldives Expand Bilateral Cooperation
Meanwhile, the visit has produced agreements covering education, healthcare, trade, tourism, agriculture and information technology. Both countries exchanged 20 memorandums of understanding to expand cooperation in these areas and strengthen their diplomatic partnership.
During discussions, the two leaders also explored opportunities to improve educational exchanges and professional training. Pakistan expressed its willingness to support Maldivian students and healthcare requirements through scholarships, training programmes and professional expertise.
