Sheikh Ibrahim Al Madani, a well-known muezzin at the Grand Mosque in Makkah, has passed away.
He performed the Fajr call to prayer at Masjid al-Haram early Monday.
That call became his final Adhan at the holy mosque.
According to reports, news of his death first appeared on social media. However, authorities have not shared the cause of death.
Funeral Prayer to Be Held at Grand Mosque
Saudi media reports said the funeral prayer will take place after Asr prayer on Monday.
The prayer will take place at the Grand Mosque in Makkah.
Al Madani served as one of the recognised muezzins of Masjid al-Haram.
He came from a religious family and spent many years serving in mosques.
Al Madani Started His Service at 15
Al Madani was born in Madinah in 1976.
His grandfather, a Hafiz of the Quran, strongly influenced his early religious education.
Later, Al Madani completed his studies in Quranic sciences.
He began giving the call to prayer at just 15 years old.
At first, he served at a local mosque in his neighbourhood in Madinah.
Over the years, he also served at three nearby mosques on a rotating basis.
He continued this work until he completed college.
His long religious journey eventually brought him to the Grand Mosque in Makkah.
On Monday, he performed his final Fajr Adhan at the sacred mosque.
