The majority of Shehbaz Sharif’s special assistants and unelected advisers have not provided the cabinet division with information about their assets in order for such information to be made public on the cabinet division’s official website.
Sources claim that these advisers and special assistants are going against a cabinet resolution made under Imran Khan’s leadership to promote openness and the general welfare. However, because the Election Commission of Pakistan has already made these special assistants’ annual wealth disclosures public, they are not permitted to provide these facts to the cabinet division.
According to reliable sources, the cabinet division has tried to remind these cabinet members and to let the Prime Minister know but to no effect. Ahad Khan Cheema, Qamar Zaman Kaira, Engineer Amir Muqam, and Awn Chaudhry are the Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s four advisors. Only Engineer Amir Muqam and Qamar Zaman Kaira’s assets are listed as being publicly accessible on the website of the cabinet division. Ahad Khan Cheema and Awn Chaudhry have simply stated their nationalities.
Only five of the 29 Special Assistants to the Prime Minister have disclosed their financial information on the website of the cabinet division. These people include Muhammad Owais Siddiqui, Syed Tariq Fatemi, Ms. Shaza Fatima Khawaja, Sadiq Iftikhar, and Tasneem Ahmad Qureshi. All of these advisors have disclosed their nationalities as well. Although Attaullah Tarar and Ambassador Muhammad Sadiq have declared their nationalities, the website of the cabinet division does not list any information about their holdings.

The Election Commission of Pakistan annually notifies the assets and liabilities of the MPs as declared by them; however, these details are not placed on the official website of the Election Commission. Initially, in the past, these details were made available online for the public but later the MPs amended the law and restricted the ECP from posting their assets’ details on the ECP website. However, the hard copy of the notification of the assets and liabilities of the MPs could be obtained by anyone.
