Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro warned of action and declared that his country is prepared for armed struggle if attacked by the United States.
In a televised address, he announced the mobilization of 2.5 million troops and militia members across Venezuela.
Maduro asserted that Venezuela is stronger, more united, and fully prepared to preserve independence under any circumstance.
He emphasized that Venezuela seeks peace but will defend its sovereignty if forced into conflict.
Accusations Against Washington
Maduro warned of action and accused Washington of deliberately provoking a military confrontation to justify an invasion.
He claimed that allegations of drug trafficking are merely a pretext for overthrowing his government.
According to him, the United States wants regime change to control Venezuela’s oil, gas, and mineral wealth.
He warned that filling the Caribbean with missiles and weapons could ignite a regional conflict.
Relations with the United States Collapse
The Venezuelan leader said communications with Washington had collapsed following US naval deployments in the Caribbean.
He revealed that previous communication channels were destroyed by threats, blackmail, and hostile actions.
Maduro referred to US Secretary of State Marco Rubio as the “lord of death and war.”
He argued that American military operations aim to destabilize Venezuela and steal national resources.
Recent Military Strikes Intensify Tensions
His remarks came shortly before reports of a deadly US strike on a Venezuelan boat.
The strike allegedly targeted a narcotics shipment, leaving three people dead.
Earlier this month, another attack killed 11 people, further straining relations between the two nations.
Tensions escalated after Washington designated the “Cartel de los Soles” a terrorist group in July.
The United States also offered a $50 million reward for Maduro’s arrest and deployed warships.
Escalating Regional Standoff
The confrontation highlights worsening relations between Washington and Caracas.
Observers warn the situation could spiral into open conflict if diplomatic efforts remain stalled.
Despite tensions, Maduro reiterated Venezuela’s commitment to defend sovereignty and maintain peace through strength.
