Authorities Introduce Transport Plan for Worshippers and Visitors
The Madinah Bus administration announced a special shuttle service for the Day of Arafah and Eid al-Adha to support the movement of worshippers and visitors travelling to important religious sites, according to reports on Sunday.
According to the Saudi Press Agency, transport authorities introduced the additional service to facilitate travel during the religious occasions, when large numbers of visitors are expected across the city.
Officials stated that the shuttle system would primarily serve passengers travelling to Al Masjid-e-Nabawi and Quba Mosque.
Meanwhile, authorities explained that the transportation plan aims to improve accessibility, reduce congestion, and assist worshippers during periods of increased activity.
Additionally, officials encouraged visitors to use designated stations and transport routes for smoother movement throughout the city.
The special arrangements form part of broader preparations designed to manage larger crowds during significant religious events.
Routes and Timings Expanded to Handle Increased Demand
Authorities stated that shuttle operations on the Day of Arafah would begin at 12:00 noon and continue until one hour after the Isha prayer.
According to officials, services would operate through designated stations and assigned routes across different areas.
The planned routes include services from Sayyid Al-Shuhada Station, Al Salam College Station, and the Shaza District to Al Masjid-e-Nabawi.
Furthermore, additional shuttle buses will travel between Garden Station and Al Masjid-e-Nabawi as well as from Al Aliyah Station to Quba Mosque.
Officials also announced that several major routes would continue operating on the first day of Eid al-Adha until 8:00am.
Meanwhile, authorities expect the extended service schedule to accommodate higher passenger volumes and assist worshippers travelling to religious locations during the holiday period.
