LPG Price Reduced by Rs67.33 Per Kilogram
Consumers across Pakistan are set to receive major relief at the beginning of the new financial year after a sharp reduction in liquefied petroleum gas prices.
The Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority has announced a significant cut in LPG rates for the month of July.
According to an official OGRA notification, the price of LPG has been reduced by Rs67.33 per kilogram. After the latest cut, the new LPG price has been fixed at Rs241.43 per kilogram.
The reduction is expected to ease pressure on households that depend on LPG for cooking and heating.
Domestic Cylinder Becomes Cheaper
OGRA has also reduced the price of an 11.8-kilogram domestic LPG cylinder.
According to the notification, the domestic cylinder price has been cut by Rs794.50. After the reduction, the new price of the cylinder has been fixed at Rs2,848.91.
The revised prices will remain effective throughout July.
The decision comes as welcome news for domestic consumers, especially those living in areas where piped natural gas is not available. Many households in rural areas, small towns, and gas-scarce urban localities depend on LPG as their main fuel source.
Relief Expected for Households
The major price cut may help reduce monthly household expenses at a time when many families are facing high living costs.
LPG is widely used for cooking, heating, and small commercial purposes. A reduction in its price can directly benefit low- and middle-income consumers.
Market observers said the new rates may also bring relief to small food businesses and roadside vendors that rely on LPG cylinders for daily operations.
OGRA said the revised LPG prices will apply for the full month of July.
