Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) prices have increased again in Lahore, crossing Rs. 400 per kilogram. Consequently, consumers have expressed growing concern over the sharp rise in retail prices.
According to market sources, LPG is selling between Rs. 400 and Rs. 430 per kilogram. However, the government has officially fixed the price at Rs. 241 per kilogram.
The significant difference between official and market rates has alarmed buyers. Moreover, many consumers claim retailers continue ignoring the government’s notified price list.
Consumers Demand Government Action
Citizens said unchecked overcharging has increased financial pressure on households across Lahore. They argued that rising LPG prices have made daily living more difficult.
One citizen said the white-collar class continues facing growing economic challenges. Furthermore, the consumer urged authorities to take strict action against profiteers.
Authorities Urged To Enforce Official Rates
Residents have called on the district administration to address the issue immediately. They also urged the relevant authorities to enforce the government-approved LPG prices.
Meanwhile, consumers expect stronger market monitoring to prevent illegal overcharging. Officials have yet to announce measures regarding the widening gap between official and retail LPG prices.
