The Punjab University has announced the postponement of its LLB examinations scheduled for Friday, citing unavoidable circumstances. A university spokesperson confirmed that new dates for the postponed exams will be announced later, while the LLB exams set for October 13 will proceed as planned.
“The LLB exams set for today have been postponed due to unavoidable circumstances,” the spokesperson stated. “The revised schedule will be issued soon.”
The decision comes amid the deteriorating law and order situation in Lahore, which has disrupted educational and administrative activities across the city.
PPSC cancels recruitment tests
In a related development, the Punjab Public Service Commission (PPSC) has cancelled the PERA force sub-divisional enforcement officer (SDEO) recruitment tests that were scheduled for October 11 and 12. A PPSC representative confirmed that fresh dates will be announced later and candidates will be informed through official channels.
Educational institutions closed in Lahore
Following the worsening security situation, the Education Department ordered all schools and universities in Lahore to close early on Friday. According to the Chief Executive Officer (Education), both government and private institutions were directed to send students home due to road closures and heavy traffic congestion across major routes.
Separately, the Higher Education Department (HED) has also directed the closure of all colleges and universities in Lahore. The Punjab University has issued an official notification suspending all classes and evacuating students from the campus as a precautionary measure.
Meanwhile, public transport has been severely affected as the Orange Line Metro Train and Metro Bus services have been suspended. Operations at major bus terminals, including City Terminal and Rahbar Terminal, have also been halted, leaving commuters stranded amid widespread disruptions.
