The fifth edition of LEAP 2026 began in Saudi Arabia on Monday, bringing technology companies, startups, investors, experts and policymakers together from around the world, including Pakistan.
The four-day event is taking place at the Exhibition and Convention Center in Malham, Riyadh, under the theme “Into New Worlds.” The event will continue until September 3, while Federal Minister for Information Technology Shaza Fatima Khawaja is also attending.
LEAP 2026 Focuses On Emerging Technologies
According to organisers, more than 1,000 speakers, 600 startups, 1,800 global technology brands and nearly 1,900 investors are participating. Meanwhile, attendance is expected to exceed 200,000 visitors.
The event is showcasing developments in artificial intelligence, cloud computing, cybersecurity and digital infrastructure. In addition, fintech, smart cities, education technology, gaming and space technology feature prominently at the event.
Major technology companies are also expected to announce investments, business agreements and partnerships. As a result, LEAP 2026 is attracting global attention as companies explore new markets and technology opportunities.
Pakistan Highlights Its Technology Sector
Pakistan is participating through a dedicated pavilion, where local IT and technology companies are presenting digital solutions, products and services to international investors and business representatives.
Shaza Fatima Khawaja, accompanied by Saudi Minister of Communications and Information Technology Abdullah Al-Swaha, visited several stalls at the event. Pakistani officials are also discussing stronger cooperation with Saudi Arabia in artificial intelligence, cloud computing and other emerging technologies.
Minister Highlights Saudi Market
Shaza Fatima said Saudi Arabia represents a major market for Pakistan’s IT sector. She added that Pakistan is working with Saudi government and private institutions to expand cooperation.
Furthermore, she said Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif is taking practical steps to promote Pakistan’s IT industry. The government also aims to create more opportunities for Pakistani youth in Saudi Arabia and other international markets.
