A lawyer was found dead inside his car at the Rawalpindi Judicial Complex on Tuesday. Police and forensic teams have launched an investigation to determine the cause of death.
The deceased was identified as Advocate Sanaullah Satti. According to police, his body was discovered on the driver’s seat of a vehicle parked outside the Lawyers Club. The area falls within the jurisdiction of the Civil Lines police station and is considered highly sensitive.
Police said the lawyer’s face and eyes appeared swollen. Additionally, blood stains were found on his face and clothing. However, authorities said it was too early to determine whether the death resulted from violence or another cause.
Police Collect Evidence and CCTV Footage
After receiving information about the incident, police cordoned off the area and called forensic experts to the scene. Investigators collected evidence from the vehicle and surrounding area before shifting the body to a hospital for a post-mortem examination.
Initial findings revealed that the vehicle entered the Judicial Complex through the main gate on Tuesday morning. Furthermore, records indicated that the car did not leave the premises afterwards.
Police have also taken CCTV footage from the Judicial Complex into custody. Investigators are reviewing the recordings as part of efforts to establish the sequence of events.
Investigation Underway to Determine Cause of Death
Rawalpindi SSP Operations Malik Tariq Mehboob visited the scene and reviewed the initial findings. He told reporters that preliminary evidence suggested the lawyer drove the vehicle into the Judicial Complex himself.
The SSP added that police investigators and forensic experts were conducting separate inquiries. Meanwhile, authorities continue to gather evidence and analyse forensic results.
Officials said more details would emerge after the completion of the investigation and post-mortem examination. Therefore, police have urged the public to wait for the final findings before drawing conclusions.
