In order to escape being detained while the girl’s father relentlessly pursues the alleged child marriage and kidnapping case in Sindh’s courts, Dua Zahra’s husband and the case’s primary accused, Zaheer Ahmed, has obtained protective bail from the Lahore High Court. Mehdi Kazmi has petitioned the Sindh High Court to take action against Zaheer for the alleged child marriage and rape of his daughter, and his attorney has raised concerns about the police’s failure to apprehend Zaheer when the pair was originally taken to Karachi after their recovery.
Zaheer sought the LHC through a plea as a preventative step, stating that he has married [nikkah] Zahra but is worried about being detained because he is accused of kidnapping the girl.
Justice Neelum Aliya asked when the FIR against Zaheer was filed during the hearing. The petitioner’s attorney responded to the inquiry by stating that the FIR was filed on April 16.
The judge then inquired as to their previous activities and what had alerted them to the police’s desire to detain Zaheer.
According to Zaheer’s attorney, the investigation officer (IO) informed a Sindhi municipal court that they are re-investigating the case. In order for the accused to obtain an interim bail from the trial court, he asked the court to approve the petition for protective bail.
Zaheer was then given protective bail by the LHC, preventing the authorities from detaining him.
