As a result of mills raising their costs, residents of Lahore will be required to pay an additional two rupees per kilogramme for flour or atta.
The Mill Owners Association decided to keep the price of flour at Rs100 per kg. As a result, the price of wheat in Punjab markets has increased to Rs3,000 per kilogramme.
The proprietors of the mills cited an increase in the cost of both energy and items derived from petroleum as the reason for this development.
