ISLAMABAD: A teenage student in Sargodha has been arrested for fatally shooting his classmate following a heated argument on WhatsApp.
The victim, Husnain Ali, was the son of Sajid Ali, a truck mechanic living in the Zafar Colony area of Sargodha. Husnain and the accused, Mesum Shah, were classmates who often communicated through WhatsApp messages and calls.
Police reports indicated that a recent WhatsApp conversation between the two escalated into a heated exchange.
In a bid for revenge, Mesum Shah allegedly got a pistol from his home and went to Husnain Ali’s residence, where he shot and killed Husnain before fleeing the scene.
The Urban Area Police Station has registered a case against Mesum Shah and his father.
