Severe Heatwave Hits Sindh and Balochistan, Temperatures Reach 47°CAuthorities Urge Public to Take Precautions

A punishing heatwave has gripped parts of Sindh and Balochistan, with temperatures soaring to dangerous levels on Sunday.

Reports indicate that Nawabshah (Shaheed Benazirabad) and Dadu recorded the highest temperatures, reaching a blistering 47°C, making them the hottest cities in the region. Moenjo Daro and Sibi closely followed with 46°C, while Hyderabad, Sukkur, and Mithi sweltered at 45°C.

The extreme heat is sweeping across much of southern Pakistan, with the sun relentlessly intensifying the discomfort, even in Karachi.

Authorities are urging the public to take precautions against heat-related illnesses, including staying hydrated, avoiding outdoor activities during peak heat, and ensuring the safety of vulnerable groups, such as children and the elderly, from prolonged exposure to the sun.

The sweltering conditions are expected to persist for the coming days, raising concerns about public health and increasing power demand.
