This period of rainfall is expected to last until August 29, bringing extensive precipitation to areas including Lahore, Gujranwala, Rawalpindi, Sargodha, Multan, Dera Ghazi Khan, and Bahawalpur.

The PDMA has cautioned that heavy rains in the mountainous regions of Koh-e-Sulaiman and the Kirthar range could lead to flash flooding, particularly in the DG Khan, Multan, and Bahawalpur divisions. The risk of significant flooding in mountain streams is also highlighted.

In response to these warnings, PDMA Director General Irfan Ali Kathia has urged district administrations, rescue services, civil defense, and other relevant agencies to implement precautionary measures, especially during the Karbala martyrs’ chehlum. He also advised the public to avoid organizing events on unstable rooftops or in dilapidated structures that could be hazardous during the heavy rains.

In Balochistan, the weather is expected to remain mostly hot and humid, with rain likely in areas like Zhob, Barkhan, and nearby regions during the evening or night.

Sindh will experience hot and humid conditions as well, with possible rain in Mithi, Tharparkar, Mirpurkhas, Badin, Thatta, Hyderabad, Sanghar, and isolated areas in Shaheed Benazirabad, Khairpur, Dadu, and Jamshoro.
