Dry Weather
The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has forecasted predominantly dry weather for many regions across the country in the coming days. According to the latest PMD update, a continental air mass is currently dominating most parts of Pakistan, contributing to dry and stable conditions.
However, a shallow westerly wave is expected to approach the extreme northern areas by tomorrow evening, bringing some changes to the weather patterns in those regions.
Most parts of the country are expected to continue experiencing dry weather, with colder temperatures during the early morning and night, particularly in the hilly regions. The province of Gilgit-Baltistan may see partly cloudy skies in the coming days.
The PMD has also issued a warning regarding smog in Punjab, with patches of fog and dense fog expected to develop in certain areas during the night and early morning on Friday (today). These foggy conditions may reduce visibility in some parts, especially during the late hours.
As the week progresses, similar weather conditions are forecasted, with dry and cold weather expected in most parts of the country. The hilly regions will continue to experience cold temperatures in the morning and at night.
On Saturday evening, Gilgit-Baltistan is expected to experience partly cloudy conditions, with the possibility of light rain and light snowfall over higher mountain peaks during the night.
Punjab is likely to remain affected by smog, with fog and dense fog patches forming in isolated areas during the morning and night. These conditions are expected to persist, reducing visibility and possibly affecting daily activities in the region.
Looking ahead to Sunday, the weather in Gilgit-Baltistan, Kashmir, Chitral, Swat, Dir, Abbottabad, Manshera, Batagram, and Kohistan is predicted to turn cloudy, with chances of rain and light snowfall over the mountains.
From Monday through Wednesday, scattered rain and snowfall are likely in Gilgit-Baltistan, Kashmir, Murree, Galliyat, Chitral, Swat, Dir, Abbottabad, Manshera, Batagram, Kohistan, and the Pothohar region.
Despite these developments, dry weather is expected to prevail across most other parts of Pakistan for the rest of the week, maintaining colder temperatures in hilly regions and dry conditions elsewhere.
