PDMA issued a warning about anticipated severe monsoon period in Balochistan

The Provincial Disaster Management Authority of Balochistan has issued a warning anticipating a significant monsoon spell from July 3 to 7.

This weather forecast predicts stormy rains across multiple districts, driven by weather systems originating from the Arabian Sea and Bay of Bengal.

According to the PDMA, areas likely to be affected include Lasbela, Khuzdar, Awaran, Jhal Magsi, Kalat, Naseerabad, Sohbatpur, Jafarabad, and Dera Bugti. Residents are urged to remain vigilant due to expected heavy rains in Musakhel, Kohlu, Zhob, and Ziarat, which pose risks of flooding and landslides.

In response to the forecast, the PDMA has issued precautionary advisories. Citizens, especially farmers, are advised to exercise caution during this period. Tourists and travelers are cautioned against unnecessary travel to mitigate potential risks associated with the adverse weather conditions.

The imminent heavy rains emphasize the critical need for preparedness and proactive measures to safeguard public safety and minimize potential damages. This proactive stance is crucial given the unpredictable nature of monsoon patterns in the region.

Meanwhile, the Meteorological Department has also issued a weather forecast indicating varied conditions across the country. Islamabad is expected to experience cloudy weather with possible rain in certain areas, while temperatures could reach up to 36 degrees Celsius.

Parts of Punjab, Potohar, and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa may also receive rainfall, offering relief from prevailing heat conditions.

Conversely, areas like Sibbi are expected to face extreme heat with temperatures potentially soaring to 47 degrees Celsius, highlighting the disparity in weather patterns across different regions of Pakistan. The Meteorological Department advises the public to stay updated on weather alerts and take necessary precautions accordingly.
