Met Office Forecasts Weather for Eid-ul-Azha 2024

As Eid-ul-Azha approaches, Pakistan braces for hot weather nationwide, according to the Meteorological Department. Despite the scorching conditions expected on Eid day, there is optimism for relief shortly afterward in the form of anticipated rain showers.

Towards the end of June, the Meteorological Department forecasts the arrival of two distinct rain systems, signaling a potentially early onset of the monsoon season in the country. Deputy Director Irfan Work confirmed the persistence of hot weather on Eid day but pointed to the promising prospect of rain showers shortly thereafter.

The forecasted rain showers post-Eid offer hope for a break from the intense heat gripping the region. The expectation of two successive rain systems entering Pakistan by late June adds to the anticipation of cooler temperatures and a reprieve from the oppressive heatwave.

Looking ahead, the early arrival of the monsoon season is seen as a positive development, with the potential to bring substantial rainfall and alleviate the prevailing hot conditions. This early onset could be beneficial for agricultural activities and water resources, crucial for the country’s economy and livelihoods.

Overall, while hot weather is expected during Eid-ul-Azha celebrations, the prospect of rain showers and an early monsoon arrival brings cautious optimism for cooler temperatures and relief from the heatwave in Pakistan.
