Lahore Weather: Rain Expected to Persist Over the Next Two Days

On Saturday, residents of Lahore and Kasur welcomed a much-needed break from the summer heat as light rain swept through various parts of the cities.

In Lahore, neighborhoods such as Gulberg, Ferozepur Road, Cantt, Defence, Faisal Town, Johar Town, Model Town, and Canal Road experienced light showers, which brought the temperature down to a comfortable 27 degrees Celsius.

The Meteorological Department has forecasted that Lahore will remain cloudy throughout the day with intermittent rain expected. The rain is anticipated to continue for the next two days, providing further relief from the intense heat.

Kasur also saw a pleasant change in weather as rain, accompanied by gusty winds, swept through the city. This brought relief to residents who had been enduring the sweltering heat.

However, the rain resulted in several electricity feeders tripping, leading to temporary power outages in some areas.

As the weather improves, both Lahore and Kasur are experiencing cooler temperatures, and residents are advised to stay updated with weather forecasts and exercise caution during the rainfall.

Karachi

In Karachi, residents enjoyed a reprieve from the usual heat as clouds and light drizzles brought a pleasant change to the city’s weather. Areas such as Garden, Numaish, and II Chundrigar Road experienced brief spells of drizzle on Saturday, much to the delight of locals. With the restoration of sea breezes, the Meteorological Department predicts light rain in the city over the next 24 hours.

Karachi’s weather is expected to remain partly cloudy, with temperatures ranging from a minimum of 28 degrees Celsius to a maximum of 30 to 32 degrees Celsius, offering relief from the typical high summer temperatures.

Islamabad/Rawalpindi

In the twin cities of Islamabad and Rawalpindi, intermittent rain has raised concerns among residents and authorities. The Meteorological Department reported significant rainfall, with Bokra receiving the highest at 107mm, followed by Chaklala with 90mm, and Saidpur with 65mm.

The Water and Sanitation Agency (WASA) in Rawalpindi is on high alert due to ongoing rain. An emergency has been declared, and WASA personnel, along with heavy machinery, have been deployed to low-lying areas to manage drainage and prevent flooding.
