Early Monday morning, heavy rainfall drenched various cities across Punjab, including Lahore, leading to flooding in low-lying areas.
Thunderstorms and strong winds accompanied the downpour. Streets in affected areas resembled rivers due to the accumulation of water, and several electrical feeders tripped as a result of the heavy rainfall.
In Lahore, the rainfall was particularly intense in locations such as Shimla Hill, Anarkali Bazaar, Gawalmandi, Cordoba Chowk, Davis Road, Mall Road, Lakshmi Chowk, Gulberg, Ichhra, Qainchi, Chungi Amar Sidhu, Gajju Matah, Islampura, Band Road, Shalimar Garden, Model Town, and Garden Town. These areas experienced flooding after the heavy rainfall.
Other cities in Punjab, including Muridke, Sheikhupura, Nankana Sahib, Safdarabad, Jaranwala, Faisalabad, Chiniot, Toba Tek Singh, Kamoke, Narowal, Okara, Jhang, Bahawalpur, Renala Khurd, Kot Addu, Bahawalnagar, Kabirwala, Hafizabad, Minchinabad, Shorkot, and Pakpattan, also received varying amounts of rainfall ranging from light to heavy.
The rainfall across Punjab provided relief from the intense heat, making the weather more pleasant and bringing joy to residents. However, the downpour disrupted the electricity supply in some areas, causing inconvenience.
In Balochistan, heavy rain affected areas such as Khuzdar, Awaran, Kech, Dera Bugti, Sibi, Musakhel, Barkhan, Zhob, Sherani, and surrounding regions. In Musakhel, a vehicle was swept away in a flooded river, necessitating a rescue operation.
A landslide on the road to Dera Ismail Khan temporarily closed the national highway, but it has since been reopened. Similarly, intense rainfall in Awaran and Surab led to temporary closures of some roads, which have now been cleared.
