A video circulating on Pakistani social media falsely claims that the Crusteez donut shop was sealed following an incident involving the chief justice. This allegation has been thoroughly debunked.
On September 26, a social media post suggested that the shop was closed because a worker allegedly “verbally abused” the chief justice. This post garnered considerable attention, racking up over 23,000 views and 300 likes.
However, the claims regarding the closure were misleading; the photo of the “sealed” sign was actually taken on September 11.
Farhan Ahmed, an assistant commissioner in Islamabad, clarified that the two events are unrelated.
He explained that the confrontation involving the chief justice occurred at the Blue Area branch of Crusteez during the summer, whereas the F6 branch was sealed on September 11 due to violations of dengue prevention protocols.
Further supporting this clarification, the deputy commissioner of Islamabad posted on X (formerly Twitter), stating that the F6 branch was sealed for failing to adhere to dengue standard operating procedures but reopened shortly thereafter.
Ahmed also noted a notification from August that enforced Section 144 in Islamabad, empowering authorities to take action against establishments that could contribute to dengue mosquito breeding.
In addition, a salesman from the Blue Area branch confirmed that the shop remains open and is operating normally despite the surrounding controversy. Thus, the claims about the closure of Crusteez donut shop are unfounded, and the establishment continues to serve its customers without interruption.
