The US embassy made the announcement via their Instagram account that the application fee for US tourist visas and non-petition-based non-immigrant visas, including student and exchange guest visas, will increase from $160 to $185 as of May 30.
The embassy stated:
“Effective May 30, 2023, the application fee for US tourist and non-petition based non-immigrant visas is being increased from one hundred sixty (160) dollars to one hundred eighty-five (185) dollars.”
Moreover, The statement added:
“The visa fee for petition-based visa applications (H, L, O, P, and Q) is being increased from $190 to $205.”

The US embassy in Islamabad has declared that temporary worker visas are also affected by the rise in visa fees, which takes effect on May 30.
Also, The embassy also announced that the cost of e-visas would increase from $205 to $315.
The increase in the price of the services offered, according to the embassy’s statement, is the cause of the charge modifications.

“We value the key role international travel plays in the US economy. It should be noted that the visa fee is determined based on an annual review of the cost of services provided.”
Non-Immigrant visas
It is important to emphasize that non-immigrant visas allow people, including tourists, business travelers, students, and specialist workers, to temporarily enter the US from Pakistan and other nations.
Also, The statement further emphasizes that any MRV fee payments made on or after October 1, 2022, will be valid for 365 days from the day a receipt is issued for the payment of the MRV fee.
This price is charged for non-immigrant visa applications.
“Applicants must schedule an interview appointment or submit an interview waiver application during this 365-day period.”
