ISLAMABAD: The British High Commission in Islamabad issued advice to its citizens, recommending that they restrict their travel to Gilgit Baltistan to essential purposes only. This guidance was prompted by recent demonstrations and protests occurring in the region.
The High Commission has cautioned UK nationals against visiting certain areas. These areas include Arandu town in Lower Chitral, the road between Mirkhani and Arandu in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, the southern coast of Balochistan, Gwadar, and Nawabshah city of Sindh.
Additionally, the UK government has issued a broader advisory. It warns against all travel to several districts in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province. These districts encompass Baujar, Mohmand, Khyber, Orakzai, Kurram, North Waziristan, South Waziristan, Charsadda, Kohat, Tank, Bannu, Lakki, Dera Ismail Khan, Swat, Buner, Lower Dir, and Peshawar.
The High Commission of Canada in Pakistan had also recently updated its travel advisory for Canadian nationals.
Authorities advised them to refrain from all travel to the Gilgit-Baltistan region due to documented “violent protests.”
Moreover, authorities cautioned Canadian citizens against undertaking non-essential travel to Karachi, citing worries regarding violence and terrorism.

Meanwhile, the Bhara Kahu police registered an FIR against Imaan Mazari under terrorism provisions.
