In a tragic incident in Faisalabad, Punjab, a man named Tahir killed his wife and three daughters before taking his own life on Friday. The motive behind the gruesome act was reported to be Tahir’s failure to repay loans. Out of Tahir’s five daughters, three were victims of the tragedy, while the other two were staying with relatives.
According to the police, Tahir had been battling depression since the death of his 9-year-old son a few months ago, who had tragically fallen from a roof. The bodies were transported to the hospital for a postmortem examination, and an investigation has been initiated to probe the circumstances surrounding the incident.
An alleged letter surfaced, purportedly written by Tahir, in which he disclosed that the extreme step was taken due to the inability to repay loans. The incident highlights the serious consequences that financial stress and mental health issues can have on individuals and their families.
Police Team Rewarded with Cash Prize for Swift Arrest of Suspects in College Bus Firing Case
Meanwhile, in recognition of their exceptional performance, DIG Investigations Lahore, Imran Kishwar, announced a reward of Rs500,000 for the police team responsible for apprehending suspects involved in firing at a college bus carrying female students near Rehmania Bridge on the old GT Road.

The arrest of five suspects in connection with the shooting incident at the college bus was announced by the police on November 28. The unidentified suspects fired upon the bus carrying female students from a private college traveling from Kasur to Kashmir.
During a briefing with journalists, DIG Imran Kishwar disclosed that the suspects involved in the firing incident were intoxicated, and a heated argument transpired between the suspects’ car drivers and the college bus drivers. Providing an update on the injured girls, he mentioned that one of them was in critical condition and on a ventilator, while the second girl was stable and recovering in the hospital.
Responding to questions, the DIG suggested that the college administration should have canceled the trip immediately after the incident. He added that the car used in the firing incident was rented. The police officer stated that further investigations are underway based on the suspects’ statements and evidence, with a terrorism clause included in the FIR.
