On Thursday, a series of blasts rocked various parts of Balochistan, claiming at least one life and injuring four others, as reported by the police. The provincial capital, Quetta, witnessed an explosion in the Spinny Road area, prompting the authorities to cordon off the site while investigating the blast’s nature.
In the Naseerabad and Turbat districts of Balochistan, additional explosions occurred, adding to the wave of incidents. In Naseerabad’s Dera Allah Yar Bhatti gate area, a hand grenade detonated, causing injuries to at least three individuals. Meanwhile, in Turbat’s main market, another grenade blast injured one person.

The gravity of the situation prompted the deployment of bomb disposal squads and rescue teams to the blast sites. In Quetta, where at least one fatality was reported, investigations are underway to determine the details surrounding the incident.
Separately, in Balochistan’s Jaffarabad, four people sustained injuries due to a cracker explosion near a hotel close to the National Highway, as confirmed by the police.
These incidents come in the wake of a blast near a Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) rally in Balochistan’s Sibi earlier in the week, resulting in four fatalities and six injuries.
In response, the Election Commission of Pakistan has called for a comprehensive report from the Balochistan inspector general and the chief secretary to assess the security situation in the region. The repeated occurrences of such incidents underscore the challenges posed to security and stability in Balochistan, prompting authorities to intensify efforts to address the situation.
