Calls Grow Louder for Government to Roll Back Imposed Additional Tax
ISLAMABAD: Issuing a strong caution to the government, the business community has conveyed that unless there is a significant reduction in the present electricity bills, they will commence a nationwide strike.
Prominent business leaders from Karachi have unveiled their action plan. They have detailed an upcoming demonstration outside the Governor House and all K-Electric offices. This protest aims to express their dissatisfaction with the excessively high electricity bills.
Sharjeel Goplani, President of the Timber Market, stated that he is ready to elevate the issue internationally. He intends to compose letters to various global organizations, including the United Nations, to highlight the perceived injustice.
Joining the protest, Qais Mansoor Shaikh, Chairman of the Caterers Decorators Association, emphasized that they will not tolerate the substantial electricity bills under any circumstances. He underscored their determination to gather outside both the Governor House and K-Electric offices.
Significantly, the wave of public outcry against the steep electricity bills is echoing nationwide. Calls are growing for the government to rescind the imposed additional tax.
Demonstrators argue that the burden of inflation already weighs heavily on them. The increased electricity bills have worsened their struggle, forcing them to sell household items to meet the payment demands.
