ISLAMABAD: PIA passengers faced embarrassment when their flight developed a technical fault mid-air. A technical issue occurred in the PIA flight from Islamabad to Skardu.
The plane departed from Islamabad at 10:50 am and at 11:55 am, the pilot reported a technical fault.
Initially, the pilot announced that the flight would return to Islamabad, but shortly after, he informed passengers that the issue had been resolved.
The plane then proceeded to Skardu without returning to Islamabad and landed safely.
About 100 passengers were on board, including MNA Nawabzada Mir Jamal Raisani and a Gilgit-Baltistan Minister.
Meanwhile, Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) has ramped up its enforcement of a ban on photography and videography during flights, particularly during critical phases such as takeoff and landing.
In response to the rising trend of passengers taking photos and videos on board, PIA has begun making frequent announcements to remind travelers of this prohibition.
The airline clarified that this measure adheres to Pakistani aviation regulations, which explicitly prohibit photography during flights.
A spokesperson for PIA explained that the ban is intended to safeguard passenger privacy and mitigate any potential issues that might arise from unauthorized filming or photography. They emphasized that this policy is consistent with global aviation standards.
