Tarar Criticizes PTI’s stance on operation ‘Azm-e-Istehkam’

Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Attaullah Tarar has rebuked the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) for allegedly obstructing efforts to combat terrorism in the country.

During a session of the National Assembly, Tarar accused those who facilitated the Taliban’s entry into Pakistan of now opposing the government’s anti-terrorism initiatives, thereby undermining national stability.

He stressed the critical need for unity in the fight against terrorism and advocated for ending the divisive rhetoric surrounding ‘good Taliban’ versus ‘bad Taliban.’

Tarar highlighted the recent launch of operation “Azm-e-Istehkam,” aimed at bolstering security and attracting investments by eradicating terrorism.

Regarding the security situation in southern districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Tarar expressed deep concern, emphasizing that terrorism poses a uniform threat affecting all factions equally.

Additionally, the minister addressed criticism within the assembly, urging opposition members to offer constructive feedback on the budget. He underscored the budget’s measures to broaden the tax base by including non-filers as crucial for economic stability.

Tarar also condemned the rise in incidents of mob violence, referencing the tragic case of a Sri Lankan citizen killed in the name of religion. He called for equal rights for minorities to enhance Pakistan’s international reputation.

JUI-F And PTI Declare ‘Military Operation Not The Solution’ Following Approval Of ‘Azm-E-Istehkam’

Meanwhile, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) and Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) have both voiced opposition to military operations as a solution to the country’s problems, following the government’s approval of the operation “Azm-e-Istehkam.”

This stance was made clear during a Saturday meeting in Islamabad between PTI’s Asad Qaiser and JUI-F Emir Maulana Fazlur Rehman, according to a statement released on Sunday. Both leaders expressed concerns over the worsening security and law and order situation in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and emphasized the importance of political parties in achieving peace and stability in the region.
