Suspected Baloch Suicide Bomber from Turbat Claims ‘I Was Brainwashed for Terrorism’

Terrorism

A suspected female suicide bomber, Adeela Baloch, who was arrested in Turbat, Balochistan, has disclosed how she was saved by security forces after a Baloch separatist organization attempted to brainwash her into committing acts of terrorism.

Speaking at a press conference on Wednesday, Baloch expressed regret over how she was manipulated by these groups and warned others not to fall into the same trap.

“I was brainwashed for terrorism. The youth are being lured into terrorism,” Baloch confessed, while seated alongside Balochistan government spokespersons, Farah Azeem Shah and Shahid Rind. The press conference also featured Baloch’s parents, who sat by her side in support.

During her address, Adeela acknowledged that she had been walking on the “wrong path” and had been “deceived” by those seeking to use her for their own purposes. She expressed gratitude toward the Balochistan government, attributing her survival and rescue to their intervention.

Adeela also revealed that she was not the only victim of such manipulation, mentioning another girl in the mountains who was similarly being led astray into terrorist activities.

Baloch, who had received her primary education in Turbat and completed a nursing course in Quetta, further explained how terrorists exploit vulnerable individuals for their agendas.

“Some people lured me towards suicide bombing. I did not think that innocent people would die because of that,” she said, emphasizing her remorse over nearly being used for violence. Baloch used the opportunity to advise the public, particularly the youth, not to be swayed by terrorist ideologies or promises.

Her father also spoke during the press conference, providing insight into the family’s ordeal. He explained that his daughter had been kidnapped and that he feared she would not return after being taken to the mountains, as others in similar situations had not.

However, he reached out to the Balochistan government for assistance, and thanks to their timely action, his daughter was safely rescued. He urged other parents of missing persons to seek help from the government and to closely monitor their children’s activities to prevent them from being influenced by dangerous elements.

Farah Azeem Shah, one of the government spokespersons, took the opportunity to call for those who have taken refuge in the mountains to return to their homes, promising the government’s full support.

“The government will provide whatever assistance is requested,” she assured, while also urging the separatist groups to end their insurgency, which continues to harm Balochistan.

Commenting on the rescue of Adeela Baloch, Shah described the state and the government as acting like a “mother” in protecting its people. “The state has accepted Adeela and her family,” she affirmed, highlighting that the government’s focus was on rehabilitation and reconciliation for those who have been misled.

However, she added a stern reminder that no compromises would be made when it comes to the interests of the state, indicating that while there is room for forgiveness, there will be no tolerance for threats to national security.

The press conference served as a reminder of the ongoing efforts by the Balochistan government and security forces to combat terrorism and bring back those who have been manipulated by insurgent groups, emphasizing rehabilitation while maintaining a firm stance on protecting the state’s integrity.
