A three-judge panel, led by Justice Ijazul Ahsan also including Justice Jamal Khan Mandokhail and Justice Shahid Waheed, will preside over the hearing.

Elahi has petitioned the Supreme Court to overturn the Lahore High Court’s division bench decision made on July 17.

Furthermore, the Supreme Court will address the contempt of court case against Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz leader Ahsan Iqbal during this period.

The court has set a date for the hearing of the contempt of court petition against Iqbal. Also a division bench, led by Chief Justice of Pakistan Umar Ata Bandial and including Justice Mazahar Ali Akbar Naqvi, will conduct the hearing on August 15.

The contempt of court petition, based on anti-judiciary speeches made in 2018, was filed in the Supreme Court.

Moreover, the Supreme Court has scheduled a hearing for PTI Chairman Imran Khan’s appeal regarding the recounting of votes in the National Assembly Constituency NA-131.

Chief Justice Bandial will head a division bench that will address this matter in the upcoming week.
